Haven

The Haven is a Ford Transit 148 Extended build for a client who wanted Ford reliability and a rig that could handle everything from weekend beach trips to longer road trips without needing to plan around campgrounds or hookups.

The Build

The Transit 148 Extended gives you solid interior length with a high roof for standing height. We built the Haven around practical daily living — a full kitchen with a cooktop and compressor refrigerator, a comfortable sleeping area, and storage designed around the client’s actual gear.

The electrical system runs on a lithium battery with rooftop solar and shore power input. Enough capacity for the fridge, lights, fan, and device charging without worrying about running low.

Custom cabinetry throughout uses the Transit’s interior dimensions efficiently. The slightly narrower body compared to a ProMaster means you pay more attention to every inch — and the result is a layout that fits together tightly without feeling cramped.

Why Transit

The client chose the Transit for two reasons: Ford’s service network and the factory AWD option. Being able to pull into any Ford dealer in any town in America for maintenance or a repair was a big deal for someone planning to travel long distances. And the AWD capability meant they didn’t need to worry about getting to trailheads or ski resort parking lots in winter.
